AOKP JB Beta 2 for HTC Explorer/Pico

It’s that time again!!!Xda Senior member ayushrox has released the beta 2 of his AOKP which is based on Jellybean.After releasing the first MIUI build for HTC Explorer he has really turned it on with these AOKP builds of his.The latest beta 3 is really super smooth and stable and the  major bug of  video playback is also fixed now with the device being able to play 720p videos with no lag at all!Only the camcorder and panorama bug remains which will surely get fixed soon.So, what are you waiting for?Go ahead and flash this on you pico right now.Here are the screenshots, changelog and the flashing instructions to follow…

A few important notes on the ROM

1.For best results reboot after first boot and use nova launcher as your default launcher.

2.You must use MX player to smoothly run 720p videos.

How to install AOKP JB beta 2 on Htc Explorer/pico

Disclaimer : Do It At Your Own Risk!

Download required files and updates from below :

  • AOKP JB beta 2  from here.
  • Super su fix from here.
  1. Copy the downloaded files to the (Root directory of) your sd-card.
  2. Reboot your device to Custom Recovery
  3. [Optional but, Recommended] Do a Nandroid Backup of your current ROM.
  4. Now from recovery main menu and select Wipe Data option.
  5. Confirm data wipe by selecting Yes.
  6. Now flash this android JB based AOKP rom using clockwork mod recovery. Follow these steps :
    • Choose Install Zip From Sd Card option.
    • Select Choose Zip From SD Card option.
    • Now select the rom downloaded earlier.
    • Confirm the installation and wait till the rom is installed on you handset.
  7. Flash the patch in CWM recovery.
    • Choose Install Zip From Sd Card option.
    • Now select the fix.
  8. Now wipe data again
  9. Wipe cache.
  10. Then wipe dalvik cache.
  11. Reboot and enjoy!

    This might be a trivial question but is the clockwork recovery already in the AOKP JB rom or does it have to be installed prior ro doing all the steps … and after step 5 does it do a restart … sorry never done this before.. thanks

      @cybegeek No..clockworkmod has to be installed separately as it does not depend on the rom.Once you install it, you can flash any rom.It has to be done prior to this.

          @cupe for apps use titanium backup and for contacts use super backup app :)
